Vintage Insect Poster after Chr. Votteler
The original plate is titled Insekten auf Distelblüten, which means Insects on Thistle Blossoms. It was printed after a watercolour by Chr. Votteler and published in Stuttgart by Julius Hoffmann as part of the Dekorative Vorbilder series. Votteler's illustration is now in the public domain.
The plate came into our own collection, and we scanned and restored it so it could be printed again.
Please note: the original has been sold. This is a modern reprint on museum quality, thick and durable matte paper, and not an original 19th century chromolithograph.
