We were lucky enough to pick up a small, well-cared-for collection of 19th-century botanical fern prints. This particular plate is a faithful reproduction of a naturalist illustration by Edward Joseph Lowe, taken from his book "Ferns: British and Exotic" (1856-1860). The subject is the graceful maidenhair fern Adiantum curvatum — part of the Pteridaceae family and easily recognised by its slender, dark stipes and glossy, vivid green fronds that arch and curve outward in delicate, feathery tiers.

Lowe captured the botanical detail with remarkable skill, and while the work is more than 150 years old it still feels wonderfully modern. It brings a natural, timeless touch to your home and is an ideal choice for anyone who loves botanical illustration. It also sits beautifully alongside the other fern plates in our Vintage Art Collection. Please note: the original has been sold. This is a modern reprint on museum-quality, thick, and durable matte paper.
